Barcelona suffered its first defeat of the season by falling down 3-1 against Manchester United in Santa Clara, near San Francisco.

Barcelona, champion of last season, rammed up to three shots on the posts of the United goalline, which imposed itself with goals from Wayne Rooney in the 8 minute, Jesse Lingard on the 66 and Adnan Januzaj on the 90. Rafinha scored for Barcelona on the 89.

Before the opening goal from Rooney, Barcelona seemed like it could have been advancing in the marker, but Sergi Roberto did not win in a mano-a-mano with Spanish goalkeeper David of Gea after a great pass from Rafinha. Uruguayan Luis Suárez also sent a shot to the left pole.

Barcelona, that defeated Los Angeles Galaxy in its first match of their tour of the United States, shall meet Chelsea on Wednesday in Washington, before returning to Europe.

Manchester United will put an end to the tour in the next Wednesday in Chicago, facing Paris Saint-Germain. Until now, the "Red Devils" have three victories.
