According to the National Center for Disaster Prevention (Cenapred), during the last 24 hours the monitoring system of Popocatépetl volcano registered 83 low-intensity exhalations, some of them accompanied by steam and gas.

Also six explosions were recorded today and three volcano-tectonic earthquakes yesterday.

At night, incandescence was observed over the crater accompanied by emission of steam and gas.

At the moment of this report, it can be observed emissions of steam and gas from the crater towards south-southeast direction.

Cenapred emphasizes that people should not go near the volcano, especially close to the crater, due to the hazard presented by ballistic fragments of molten rock.
