Teenager Alondra Díaz García and her mother, Dorotea García, arrived at the Guadalajara international airport in order to catch a flight to Houston, Texas.

The women arrived at the airport surrounded by officers from the Federal Police at around 4:00 a.m. During the whole process in the customs office and the waiting room, the police remained with them.

The 13-year-old girl was handed over to García when their kinship was confirmed through DNA testing. Alondra was kidnapped in Texas by her father in 2007 and taken to the metropolitan area of Guadalajara.

The restitution process began on May 11, after the girl's father decided to surrender her voluntarily after eight years.

The case became well known during last month when Alondra Luna, a 14-year-old girl, was confused with Alondra Díaz García and forcibly removed from her school to be transferred to the U.S., just to be returned a few days later when a DNA test demonstrated that she was not related to Dorotea García.
